ISTB Seminar in Morocco in November 2006

Takeda Ryu, an authentic budo tradition as taught by Headmaster Kobilza, for the first time on the African continent!

It is owed to Sensei Othman Bouhait (Tangier/Morocco) that Moroccan budoka had the chance to practise and experience Takeda Ryu martial arts as represented by Headmaster Kobilza and the International Society for Takeda Budo (ISTB).

Sensei Othman Bouhait one day found out about the authentic budo practice and the high level of teaching in ISTB, so he took a lot of efforts to get in touch with ISTB representatives and finally with ISTB headquarters to apply for a membership.

After numerous phone calls and e-mails he had a meeting in Brussels with Shihan Debot (then ISTB representative and member of the ISTB Shidoshinsahonbu) after which he decided to organize a seminar in Tangier on November 17-19, 2006 with Headmaster Kobilza.

Kobilza Sensei, ISTB president and head of the school, gave an impressive introduction to the Takeda Budo and presented its rules and values. He was assisted by Shihan Debot and the Sensei Dufrêne and Marcinowski from Belgium. Kobilza Sensei mentioned in his welcome speech that when two cultures meet, the values of peace, respect and tolerance have to dictate the way we act, and indeed it was a seminar weekend in peace and harmony.

At the end of the seminar, there was an official ceremony during which Sensei Bouhait signed the license contract and became the first Moroccan representative of Takeda Ryu Kobilza Ha.
